  Ingredients   Method
1 cucumber sliced rounds
1 onion sliced rounds
1 small ridge-gourd peeled and sliced round
8-10 ajwain leaves washed clean whole
1 potato peeled and sliced round
1 1/2 cup gram flour
1/2 cup rice flour
salt to taste
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
Oil for deep fry



  1. Do not slice the vegetables too thick or too thin.

  2. Mix flours, salt, cumin seeds, turmeric to make a batter for dipping.

  3. Heat oil to deep fry. When hot, add a tablespoon to the batter and mix.

  4. Dip the vegetables, slice by slice and slide into the hot oil. Fry on medium heat till golden brown.

  5. Serve hot with sauce or chutney as desired.
